(a)), the main reason armed conflicts and wars, which cause millions of people to leave their homes in search of safety. Syria, Afghanistan, South Sudan, and Yemen have caused massive displacement of populations. Another major cause of refugee crises is political instability and oppression, where authoritarian regimes repress dissent and violate human rights, causing a mass exodus such as the Arab Spring.
