In line with\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">efforts to maximize the value of natural resources and minimize toxic materials in the environment, many\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">countries have developed bio-economic strategies that contribute to the conversion of bio-basic raw materials\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">to develop organic products (bio-plastic , bio-pharmaceuticals, green chemicals etc.). In Europe, there\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">are already countries that have established bio-economic policies (Denmark, Finland, Germany, France,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">Scotland and the Netherlands), and an European strategy is already being discussed at EU level. Countries\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">that are already implementing bio-economic principles are positioned as research and innovation centers\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">for bio-products, green energy, bio-economic processes and services. In this context, bio-plastics play an\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">important role due to their potential to contribute to improving the quality of the environment and, implicitly,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">the well-being of the planet\u2019s inhabitants.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Aim of the study<\/strong>. T<span style=\"font-size: 16.604px;\">he article aims to make a brief\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">analysis of the importance and evolution of the field of bio-plastics at a globall and European level, trying\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">to bring forth the best examples of good practice from countries that are already implementing such policies\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.604px; color: var(--c-contrast-800);\">and whose economies are becoming more and more bio (green economies).
